Petra, Jordan.
Petra (Greek meaning stone) is a historical & archaeological city in the Jordanian governorate of Ma’an that is famous for its rock cut architecture and water conduit system. Established sometime around the 6th century BC. Al Khazneh (“the Treasury”) is hewn directly out of the sandstone cliff and the first sight of Petra from the dark and narrow gorge (in places only 3-4 metres wide) called the Siq.
